Ukraine Discovers Over 1 Million Hectares of Unofficial Forests

In Ukraine, over 1 million hectares of former agricultural land have naturally regrown into forests, but legally, they are still not considered forests. The Ministry of Economy believes that legalizing these areas could significantly increase the country's forest cover and save public funds. Currently, efforts are underway to amend legislation in collaboration with Germany.
