Oksana Sharko, the director of the Kyiv Regional Center for Emergency Medical Aid, has called for emergency medical workers to be recognized as law enforcement officials to better protect them. She suggested implementing criminal responsibility for assaults on medical staff and initiating legislative changes in the Kyiv Regional Council and the Verkhovna Rada.
