Turkish Governor Dismissed Over Tight Cycling Pants

Mehmet Fatih Cicekli, the governor of Ardahan province, was dismissed without explanation on July 17 by a decree from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The dismissal stemmed from social media photos of him in tight cycling shorts, which drew criticism from fellow politicians. Deputy Inan Akgun Alp remarked that such attire is unacceptable for someone in a public office.
