Supreme Court Reviews Case for Recovering UAH 1.8 Billion from "Zombie Bank"

The Supreme Court of Ukraine has begun reviewing a case regarding the recovery of UAH 1.8 billion paid to depositors of the former "Ukrinbank." The Deposit Guarantee Fund seeks to be involved in the proceedings that date back to 2015 when the bank was declared insolvent. The conflict has been further complicated by actions taken by shareholders that blocked the bank's liquidation and led to the registration of a new company.
