Danube River in Hungary Reaches Record Low Due to Drought

Due to prolonged drought, the water level of the Danube River in Hungary has dropped to 39 cm, just 6 cm above the historical minimum. This low water level has already disrupted river transport, and the situation around the town of Baja may worsen with forecasts as low as 21 cm. It is expected to negatively affect the local economy and tourism sector.
