Water Contamination in North Macedonia: Over Three Thousand Cases

In North Macedonia, over 3100 cases of poisoning have been reported in the city of Gostivar due to contaminated water entering the municipal water supply from an open canal. The incident was attributed to the negligence of a municipal enterprise, allowing water contaminated with coliform bacteria at levels 48 times above the norm for 22 days. An investigation is underway.
