First Case of Tick-borne Encephalitis Recorded in Lviv in 2026

Lviv has recorded the first laboratory-confirmed case of tick-borne encephalitis in 2026, involving a 59-year-old man who was bitten by ticks during an expedition. Initial symptoms appeared on July 8, and the man was hospitalized on July 15. He had not received vaccination against the disease.
