Use of Satellite Data in Agricultural Statistics During the War

The State Statistical Service of Ukraine has begun using satellite data to assess crop areas and agricultural production during the war. This has become necessary due to complications in surveying areas affected by combat, where safe contact with respondents is sometimes impossible. Satellite imagery allows the State Statistics Service to obtain accurate information about the conditions of agricultural lands.
