Lawyer Detained in Kyiv for Attempted Fraud

A lawyer has been detained in Kyiv on suspicion of attempting to defraud a company out of $20,000. Investigators allege that he promised to influence a court decision despite having no actual involvement in the case. The State Bureau of Investigations reported that the lawyer did not represent the client's interests in court, even though a legal support contract was signed.
