Trump Administration Removes Automatic Protection for Rare Species

The Trump administration has decided to remove automatic protections for rare animals and plants. From now on, officials will determine restrictions for each new species recognized as endangered, which could allow for the killing or capture of these species even after they are designated as threatened.
