Greece to Expand Navagio Beach to Protect Wrecked Ship
The Greek authorities have announced plans to expand Navagio Beach by 30 meters to protect the wrecked ship that has been on its shore for over 40 years. The project involves the deposition of gravel to move the ship further from the water and slow its corrosion. The beach will be closed throughout the summer of 2026 for the works.
