The Largest Catfish in Ukraine Reside in the Chernobyl Zone, Scientist Claims
Biologist Yuriy Kvach stated that the largest catfish in Ukraine live in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone due to a ban on fishing there. He also mentioned that such fish accumulate radioactive elements, but adult specimens likely survived the dam explosion event in the Kakhovka Reservoir. Currently, the Dnipro River is returning to its natural state, and the catfish are probably doing well.
