New EU Car Regulations Mandate Driver Monitoring Cameras

Starting July 7, 2026, all new passenger cars and vans registered in the European Union must be equipped with the Addw system, which monitors the driver's status using an infrared camera. This system reactivates with each engine start and issues warnings if the driver looks away from the road. This measure is part of the wider EU safety regulations being implemented gradually.
