Military Uprising Due to Discontent with Government Decisions

On July 18, 1917, a military uprising by the soldiers of the Pavlo Polubotok Regiment took place in Kyiv. The uprising was triggered by the compromise between the Central Rada and the Provisional Government of Russia, which left the newcomers dissatisfied and seeking to declare Ukraine's independence. Facing a lack of support from the government, they resorted to armed action.
